Jubilee^® Clips unveils its latest signing

Jubilee® Clips has recruited a new name to its team in the shape of qualified football coach Chris Wood.

As UK Sales Manager for the Gillingham-based manufacturer, Chris is responsible for leading its office- and field-based sales specialists, and helping them to develop even closer links with wholesale customers through the provision of training, technical support and point-of-sale marketing materials.

“This is a very exciting move for me,” says Chris. “Jubilee® Clips may be an internationally-known name but this is still very much a ‘family’ business. I’m relishing the challenge of winning new orders and maintaining the high profile of our historic brand.”

Chris is working closely with Managing Director Ian Jennings and General Sales Manager Chris Bunting. His appointment reflects the fact that despite a growing market share and recently extended product portfolio, Jubilee® Clips will not be resting on its laurels.

The world’s oldest manufacturer of worm drive hose clips does not deal directly with end-users but sells through a network of wholesalers across various sectors of industry.

Chris, who lives in Sittingbourne with his wife and two children, holds a UEFA ‘B’ coaching qualification and is also Youth Development Officer at nearby Faversham Town FC, who play in the Ryman League Divison One South.

“I have 20 years’ experience in sales, much of which was spent working with customers in the automotive sector, so I have lots of ideas to offer,” he adds. “It’s an honour to be working with such an iconic brand.”

Jubilee® Clips’ parent company L Robinson & Co was founded by Commander Lumley Robinson RN – Ian Jennings’ great-grandfather – who took out the patent on his original worm drive hose clip in 1921; it is now widely acknowledged as a design classic.

Quality of design and manufacture, and of service in terms of stock availability and the general, ‘can do’ helpfulness of its staff, are the key attributes on which Jubilee® Clips has built its reputation. As well as standard worm drive clips, the company offers high torque, wingspade and multiband variants, pincer-fixed ‘O’ clips, Juniors (nut & bolt clamps) and Superclamps (heavy duty bolt clamps), with half of its annual production being exported to overseas markets.
